Overview
Jade Mountain (Yu Shan) is Taiwan’s tallest mountain at 3952m. This is also the most famous and popular hike trail in Taiwan.
Everyone who loves in adventure activities, such as hiking, and any outdoors in Taiwan dreams to reach the summit of Jade mountain once in their lifetime. The hiking trail itself is rather friendly compared to other high mountain hikes, which is also the one of the easiest high mountain hikes in Taiwan, even the world.
Taking 2 days 2 nights hiking trip is suggested for the first visit to Jade mountain, we can have a more flexible schedule to enjoy the significant landmark and do an adaptation to high altitude for avoiding AMS (Altitude mountain sickness).
Yushan National Park allows a specific number of foreign hikers (24 people per day) to get the permits on weekdays (Sun. ~ Thurs.) in advance, mainly resulting from the limited capacity of Paiyun lodge, the application can be registered from 35 days to 4 months before your hiking date.
